Eurovision? raise your eyebrows!

I’ve been experimenting with the scissors, and on what, you may be thinking? The eyebrows again is what. I’ve let the lower edges down a few millimeters, and although it’s not obvious, Jay has stopped whingeing about plucking them; but with scissors, you can do some major work. With scissors, it’s not about reshaping, it’s more about mass reduction. Jay can’t stand Dennis Healey style growths, so scissors seem to be acceptable, where plucking isn’t. The minor problem with scissors, is that hair growth is immediately apparent, so you have to do repeat treatments often. I guess, as it’s more acceptable to the girlie police, then it’s not exactly onerous.

I do like reading every one’s blogs, as you know, and I am in awe of all you girls who go out and be en femme for real, and meet up with your friends for real too. My Bob Blog follows the stuff family can read about, and life is pretty good, and we, Jay and I and the family, have a lot of fun. It would be so nice to do all that family stuff en femme though.

This weekend we are having a Eurovision party; the bread snappers are coming home with their partners; we’ll have score cards; compare winners; have some wine and crisps and dips and things; have a good laugh at the lyrics and the voting, and everything. I’ve heard it said that the contest doesn’t matter, but if that’s so, why whinge about the tactical scoring? It’s a super fun evening the way we play it, and we do it every year. Just having the family get-together makes it worth it anyway. The rest of the weekend will be chatting, competitions on the Wii; (I still haven’t got back to the top of all the leader boards since our last family meet); go for walks along the beach; have a slap up Sunday roast lunch – Jay is such a gorgeous cook; listen to the latest music everyone has brought, and basically end up knackered by the time everyone leaves. Yes, Bob does have a lot fun, which is just as well really - LoL

Number 1 son is an iMac aficionado, and I don’t think he has read my Bob Blog, or he would be telling me how to use it already. He’ll have a bit of surprise when he comes on Friday – and I need some 'how to do it' bits sorting out too – LoL.

  1. I take a comb and put my eye brow through it. Then, I take a razor and shave everything that sticks through the comb. It's a nice compromise and keeps them neat.

  2. Hi Calie,

Thanks for that tip. I've seen hairdressers do that on normal hair; I hadn't thought of doing it on eyebrows. Doing it 'freehand', there is always the risk of a slip, and I can see the brilliance of your technique. I just so have to try that out.
